The claws came out on Sunday at the New Bedford Chowder Festival at the State Pier as the New Bedford YMCA held its fifth annual lobster races.

Sippican Week and Wareham Week sponsored lobsters for the race, Lob Woodward and Claw Bernstein, respectively.

The lobsters were released into the wild after the race and proceeds from the event benefited the YMCA.
