Local organizations seek donations for the holidays

Nov 19, 2014

The Onset Bay Association as well as local non-profit Turning Point are seeking donations for those in need this holiday season.

The Onset Bay Association is holding a coat drive and accepting new/slightly used coats, jackets and blankets for residents in need.

The drop-off locations are TarraDean Studio 6 Union Ave. and the Firehouse Cafe at 239 Onset Ave.

The donations will be distributed to either Turning Point or Wareham Schools to be passed on to whoever is in need.

Turning Point is an organization that helps the homeless, and more so the near homeless, stay off the streets by providing money for rent, heating bills, medical care, car payments and beyond.

Turning Point is also accepting donations for the many residents it offers help to. There are a variety of ways that anyone can donate.

People can adopt a family of one to six children and provide Christmas gifts, they can donate gift cards to places like Walmart and Target or they can donate money.

For more information on ways to give back, contact Turning Point at (508) 291-0535.
