Lorena Harju, 83, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away June 29, 2023.  Lorena was born and raised in Wareham and lived there most of her life before retiring down south.

Born June 15, 1940, Lorena was the daughter of the late Carl Harju and Violet Sleightholm Harju and sister of Linda Harju of Marion.  She graduated from Wareham High School, and after graduating, Lorena went on many business ventures with her then-husband, Arnold Briggs of West Wareham.  Lorena's passion was her cranberry business, Sippican Cranberry Co., where she grew for Ocean Spray.  Lorena was a lover of nature and the ocean.  Upon moving to South Carolina, she made sure to keep her love of conservation going by helping with her beloved "turtle walks" where she would help mark and protect sea turtle nests and help walk hatchlings to the ocean when they hatched.

Lorena is survived by her sister, Linda Harju of Marion, her niece, Amber Roderick of Tiverton, RI, and her nephew, Mason Roderick of Marion.
