Lucien E. Gorton, 74
Lucien E. Gorton, 74, of Onset, died Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Mass. General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Potter) Gorton.
Born in Cornwall, Vt., he was the son of the late Romeo Bertrand and Katherine Gorton.
Gorton was a journeyman electrician and worked in Hyannis. He has been a resident of Onset since 1981 and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wareham. Gorton enjoyed antique automobiles and enjoyed attended classic car shows.
Gorton was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1961 to 1964.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Gorton of Shelburne, Vt. and Lucien S. Gorton of Onset; two daughters, Kristina M. Bergenheim and her husband Billy of Wareham and Lori Westgate and her husband Warren, Jr. of Ga.; two brothers, Paul Bertrand of Rutland, Vt. and Joseph Bertrand of Wildwood, Fla.; two sisters, Annette Reynolds of Brandon, Vt. and Annie Stewart of S. Burlington, Vt.; his grandchildren, Ashley, Allison, Tyler, Dylan, Connor, Logan, Madison, Alyssa and Jolene.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 10 a.m.. Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date.
