MA Children's Relief presents Turning Point with $8,000 check
Wareham-based MA Children's Relief presented an $8,000 check to the Turning Point Day Resource Center for the homeless and near-homeless on Nov. 19.
The funds were primarily raised at the MA Children's Relief annual fundraiser, Tastes & Sounds of Portugal, hosted at Salerno's earlier this fall.
MA Children's Relief presents an annual check to Turning Point in an effort to help with area families' winter needs. This year's donation was a whopping $1,000 more than last year's.
"MA Children's Relief is grateful to all the businesses, organizations, families, and individuals who donated their gifts of talent and time, as well as those who attended dinner or bought items," said Sally Morrison, coordinator of MA Children's Relief.
MA Children's Relief, also raised funds at this year's Cranberry Harvest Celebration and through the sale of CranNKids games, and blankets and knit goods donated by the Y Knitting Club, Project Linus, and the Harwich Quilt Bank.
The 8th annual Tastes & Sounds fundraiser will visit Mexico on Sept. 21, 2013. For more information or to help with the organizations' efforts, contact Sally Morrison at sammorrison@comcast.net.
