MA Children's Relief thanks community for great 2011
To the Editor:
Even in these challenging economic times, MA Children’s Relief had its best year, thanks to the cumulative efforts of local businesses, school & town employees, non-profits, families, and individuals.
Tastes & Sounds of France and CranN Kids at Harvest Celebration raised $7,000 for Turning Point Day Resource Center’s annual winter check. Kids Kickin' Cancer received $500 in Hailey Pease’s memory.
Seasons of Giving personal shoppers covered area kids in need throughout this year through the Beach Bucket Brigade, Backpacks to School, and Kid Komfort Kits.
Thank you for your monetary and in-kind donations, as well as the most precious gifts of talent and time.
A special thanks to the Salerno and Makepeace Krewes for being event hosts since Katrina hit the Gulf Coast and our pen-pal school 6 years ago. Out of such a horrific situation, something joyful and productive has sustained. It is a comfort to our Slidell, LA Krewe that the original MA to LA Children’s Relief not only continues as MA Children’s Relief, but that is has broadened its personalized projects and fundraising events to provide assistance throughout the year to area kids in need.
