Make a change with United Way grants
The United Way of Greater New Bedford will hold two virtual information sessions about its Changemaker Grants, which are available for any all-volunteer community projects in the Greater New Bedford area.
The Zoom meetings will be held on Wednesday, Feb 8 at 1 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
Organizations can apply for up to $2,500 in Changemaker Grant money for engaging, solutions-focused projects that foster unity through community action.
Last year, a Changemaker Grant funded the reconstruction of the unsafe, 33-year-old Swifts Beach Playground. The new playground had its old equipment replaced, was made accessible to children with disabilities and given an improved landscape.
Changemaker Grant recipients also receive skill-building workshops, networking opportunities and volunteers from Volunteer SouthCoast to assist with their projects.
Applications are open from Feb. 1 to March 10.
