The Wareham Area Clergy Association will host “Wareham Walks for the Homeless,” a 5-mile community fundraiser walk, at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 17.
The walk will begin and end at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 74 High St., and will benefit Turning Point, an organization that supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
The event aims to raise both awareness and funds for those facing housing insecurity, especially following a winter marked by severe storms and freezing temperatures.Community members are invited to participate by registering as walkers or by sponsoring someone taking part.
Registration materials, including a walker sponsor form and additional event information, are available at goodshepherdwareham.org/walk-for-homeless.
For more information, call the Church of the Good Shepherd at 508-295-2840 or contact any Wareham church. Proceeds from the walk will go directly toward supporting Turning Point’s efforts to assist vulnerable residents in the Wareham area.
