Man arrested for receiving stolen property

Nearly $2,500-worth of stolen property has been returned to owners after a homeless man was caught with stolen items. 

Police were told that they would be able to find the stolen items at a residence in East Wareham. They identified a suspect and apprehended him on Depot Street. The man had more stolen items on him, and took officers to a wooded area on Minot Avenue where some stolen tools were stored in a bucket. 

Several cars had been entered and stolen from on Minot Avenue, Great Neck Road, and Penny Lane. 

While the investigation is ongoing, the man has been charged with five counts of receiving stolen property under $1,200 and one count of receiving stolen property worth more than $1,200.
