Wareham Police caught a man red-handed attempting to steal copper pipes from a home on Parker Drive.

Just before 4 p.m. on Friday, August 14, police received a report of a breaking and entering at the home. 

When they arrived on the scene, Officers Lorenzo Grosso and James White saw an open window and a man inside the house.

White went around the back of the home as Grosso told the man to come out. The man attempted to escape through the garage, but was cut off by Grosso, who had climbed in the open window. 

Officers found a pile of copper pipes in the hallway along with various tools.

Joshua Medeiros, 33, of East Wareham, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, and vandalizing property.
