Man charged with Speedway Gas robbery
A 60-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for the December robbery of Speedway Gas, according to the Wareham Police Department.
Police said detectives executed a search warrant for Alvin Philbrick’s home at 112 Charge Pond Rd. a little after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, in connection with the robbery that happened Dec. 23. Police said a masked man robbed Speedway Gas, while holding a crowbar, and fled on Merchant’s Way, with an undetermined amount of cash.
At Philbrick’s residence, police said they found clothing that matched the description of those worn by the suspect during the robbery. Police said they also conducted further investigation regarding the suspect’s identity, during the search.
Philbrick was arrested and charged with the robbery around 4:30 p.m., while walking on Route 28. He was arraigned Thursday morning at the Wareham District Court.
