Man killed while crossing Cranberry Highway identified

Police have identified 53-year-old Charles Raymond, of 3221 Cranberry Highway, as the pedestrian who was struck and killed crossing Cranberry Highway on Tuesday night.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Raymond is identified as 38 year-old Christopher Delsie of Buzzards Bay. Delsie was cited by Wareham Police for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.

At approximately 8:30 p.m Tuesday police responded to 3214 Cranberry Highway in the Jefferson Shores area of East Wareham near the intersection of Onset Avenue for a reported pedestrian accident.

Raymond was airlifted to a Boston area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement released by the Wareham Police Department Wednesday.

The accident is currently under investigation.
