Manuel Miranda, Sr., 60
Manuel Miranda, Sr., 60, of Falmouth, formerly of Wareham, passed away Sept. 11 at Falmouth Hospital. Manuel is the husband of Kathleen (Frye) Miranda of Falmouth.
Born in Wareham, Manuel was the son of the late George and Benvida (Gomes) Miranda. He attended Wareham Public Schools and graduated from Upper Cape Regional High School.
He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard during the Vietnam War as a military police officer.
A professional wrestler and entertainer, Manuel was known as the "Law Man” in the World Wrestling Federation, better known as the WWF. He also served the Town of Wareham and the Town of Falmouth as a police officer for many years, and later owned and operated Manuel Miranda Landscaping.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Manuel Miranda Jr. and his wife Katrina of Wareham, Michael Miranda of Marion, Marc A. Miranda of Falmouth, Eileen Miranda of Conn., and Asia Morton of Plymouth. His is the brother of Melvin Miranda of Wareham, G. Sonny Miranda of Falmouth, and Paula Miranda of New Bedford. Manuel is also survived by 5 grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is the brother of the late Paul Miranda.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m., prior to the end of visitation. Interment will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to the Manuel Miranda Sr. Memorial Fund c/o Rockland Bank.
