Maria Faber, 91
Maria Faber, 91, of Marion, passed away peacefully and gracefully at the Forest View Nursing Home in Wareham on March 18, after a long illness.
Maria was the wife of the late Joseph Konrad, with whom they had one daughter. Maria was re-married to the late Josef Faber, with whom they had one daughter.
Maria was born in Schwabitz, Czechoslovakia, and lived in Salzburg, Austria, with her family before immigrating to the United States in 1957. Maria's family was sponsored by the United Methodist Church in Marion.
Maria was employed by the Marion General Store for more than 15 years and loved the community she served.
She enjoyed music in all forms and was often found singing and yodeling, dancing, or reciting poetry. Maria also enjoyed politics and current events, as well as yardwork and birdwatching. Her greatest passion was for her family and dear friends.
She will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her as being full of love, life, and happiness. She took each day as it came, and lived life to the fullest.
Maria is survived by her children, Hannelore (Konrad) Maxim and Rosita (Faber) Buckminster. She is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many loving relatives.
