Marie C. (Monahan) Gruttner, 78, of Bellingham, formerly of Wareham and Dorchester, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at home in Bellingham. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. "Bud" Gruttner.

Born in Boston, Marie had been a resident of Wareham since 1975 and recently moved to Bellingham. She was employed as a waitress.

She is survived by her children, Francis J. "Fran" Gruttner, of Bellingham, James M. Gruttner, of Lynnfield, Maureen Tutungian, of Bellingham, and Liz McGowan, of East Bridgewater; her grandchildren, Lauren, Brian, Michael, Holly, Gabrielle and Kendall; several nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Margaret Wood, of Wareham. She was predeceased by her sisters, the late Margaret "Sissy" Norton and Dottie Walton.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church. Interment was in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
