Marion town employee pulls nomination papers for Wareham’s town clerk seat

A West Wareham woman employed by the town of Marion has pulled nomination papers for Wareham’s town clerk seat.

Wareham’s election is set for April 2. Candidates must submit the signatures of 50 registered voters by Feb. 11 to make the ballot. In total, 10 open seats will be up for grabs in the election on a variety of boards. 

Michele Bissonnette took out papers on Jan. 10 for the seat to be left vacant by current clerk Mary Ann Silva, who announced her retirement earlier this year. Bissonnette is currently an administrative assistant in Marion’s treasurer/collector office. She has also worked as assistant town clerk in Marion.

One other person, Jenna Deane, has taken out nomination paper’s for the town clerk seat.
