Marlene Joseph, 82
Marlene P. Joseph, 82, of West Wareham died Jan. 15 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Ernest John Joseph and the daughter of the late John and Mary (Smrekar) Leasha.
Mrs. Joseph was born and raised in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, then moved to Boston to be with her husband and start their family, and eventually settled in Brockton. Marlene was a talented and accomplished oil-painting artist who began her education studying art at Mt. Gallitzin Academy in Pennsylvania, and continued her studies at the Pittsburgh Institute of Fine Arts. After moving to Brockton, she opened a studio-gallery where she taught art lessons to adults and children for many years as a profession while raising her family. After retirement, Marlene moved to Cape Cod and eventually settled in Wareham.
Marlene was a very loving mother and grandmother, whose main happiness in life centered around enjoying time with her loving family.
Survivors include her children, Ernest Joseph and his wife Joyce of Boston, Scott Joseph and his wife Danielle of Upton and Nancy Joseph and her partner, Joseph Lunnin of Wareham; four grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Benjamin and Ayden Joseph.
Her services will be private.
