Maurice Harlow, 83
Maurice Harlow, 83, of Wareham died May 5 at his home. He was the husband of Dolores F. (LaChappelle) Harlow. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in November. He was the son of the late William and Fannie (Robinson) Harlow.
Maurice was born and raised in Wareham. He then lived in Norwalk, Conn. for 18 years before returning to Wareham. He was a graduate of Wareham High School.
Mr. Harlow served in the United States Army Airborne Division during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
He worked for the Onset Water Department for many years before retiring.
Maurice was affectionately called “Papa” by his loving family. A loving and caring family man, he simply adored his grandson and great-grandson.
Survivors include his widow, Dolores F. (LaChappelle) Harlow; his son, Milton F. Harlow and his wife Sheila of Centerville; his grandson, Curtis M. Harlow of Wareham; his great-grandson, Zachary A. Harlow; many nephews and nieces including Richard Crocker, Jr. who was one of his best friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Maurice’s life by gathering for visiting hours at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., on Thursday, May 10, from 5 to 7 p.m.
His funeral and burial service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private.
