Melissa Ann (Stimpson) Bourne, 63, of Wareham, died Oct. 23, 2020 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston. She was the wife of Robert C. Bourne and the daughter of the late Orrin E. and Gertrude M. (Lewis) Williams.

She was born in Brockton and has lived in Wareham since 1980. She graduated from Brockton High School and the University of Massachusetts, N. Dartmouth. 

Mrs. Bourne was the Assistant Town Account for the Town of Wareham. She worked for the town for over 30 years. Melissa volunteered countless hours as treasurer for the Wareham Fireman’s Association, which was her passion.

She enjoyed Nascar modified racing and her racing family, camping, boating, and swimming. Melissa was a true friend, helping people with everyday tasks, unselfishly. She loved her family, her 2 dogs, Narla and Amber and 6 cats.

Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Bourne; her cousins, Virginia Lewis and her husband, Bill Teed of Onset, Robin Cody of FL, Cynthia Lewis of Quincy, Donald Lewis of Taunton, J. Matthew Lewis of Walpole, Sharon and Brian Martin of Wareham, Quentin and Doreen Lewis of Leicester; her brother in law, James Bartlett of Hyannis; and her godmother, Roberta Lewis of FL. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity).

Her graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 at Center Cemetery, Tihonet Rd., Wareham.
