'Memories of Wareham History Group' at Wareham Free Library

May 18, 2012

The newly re-formed Memories of Wareham History Group will meet in the Stone Research Room on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon starting on June 6 and June 20.

Group members will share their recollections, stories, and anecdotes with each other and notes and recordings from these discussions will be filed in the library’s Stone Research Room for future generations and historians.

Each informal meeting will have a planned subject of discussion. Possible topics include businesses, schools, wartime, mills, neighborhoods, and local industries.

Area residents and visitors interested in preserving Wareham’s history are encouraged to attend. Seasonal residents are especially encouraged to attend and share information about their families’ history and experiences in the local ‘beach areas,’ a subject which is not well covered in Wareham’s documented history.
