Michael J. Saviano, 83
Michael J. Saviano, 83, of Onset and formerly of Natick, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, Oct. 24, surrounded by his family, after fighting a long battle with illnesses over the past three years.
Born in Natick he was the beloved husband of the late Sonia (Le Conte) Saviano, and son of the late Joseph and Goldie Saviano.
Mr. Saviano worked for 32 years for the Town of Natick School Department, and retired in 1992 as the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Michael enjoyed being outside working in his yard, gardening or creating an outside project. He also enjoyed scenic rides throughout Cape Cod and being with his family at Fourth of July cookouts, Labor Day reunions, or Christmas Eve gatherings.
Mr. Saviano was a veteran of the United States Army and was graduate of Natick High School class of 1950.
He is survived by two children, Michael J. Saviano, Jr., and his wife Kathy of Foxborough, and Lorraine Saviano –Slesinki and her husband John, of Bourne. He is also survived by his longtime companion Janice Badger, of Onset; grandchildren Kelly Bissonette, Stephanie McKenzie, Travis Slesinki, Taylor Slesinki; greatgrandchildren Brayden Bissonette and his brother Shea, and Kaitlyn McKenzie; sister Marjorie Driscoll; two nephews Ted and Wayne Driscoll; and a large number of cousins and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park St. at the Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church in Natick at 10 a.m.
Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
