Michele M. Semple, 77

Dec 3, 2024

Onset, Wareham Michele M. Semple,77, “Nana Mikki” of passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2024 in Marion, MA. She was the daughter of the late Charles N. And Gwendolyn D. (Bowles) Semple.

Mikki attended and graduated from the Wareham Public School system. She often spoke fondly about her time working as a Head Start bus driver and for the former Melodye Flower Shop. But the job she cherished most was being a Nana. If you ever had the opportunity to drive or walk by Nana’s porch on a hot summer day, you would see family and friends laughing as well as enjoying her famous tuna sandwiches. The stories and laughter that were exchanged on that porch are priceless to many. Nana always made everyone feel welcome, she had an open-door policy and always offered a shoulder to lean on. Most importantly she was the best listener, no problem too big or small.

As much as she loved spending time with family and friend’s she was no stranger to lending a helping hand. As a long-term resident of Onset, Nana had such a strong sense of community and you would often see her volunteering at the annual Onset Blues Festival or The Cape Verdean Festival with all her grandchildren in tow.

Christmas and Halloween weren’t just a day of the year to Nana they were an all year around event. She managed to make those holidays something special for everyone around her. If you were walking in her house and “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” or “Hocus Pocus” wasn’t on her tv, then the Hallmark Channel sure was.

She is survived by her daughters Tammy Semple-Carlson of Minnesota, Nicole Miceli and her husband Philip Miceli of Wareham; her granddaughters Danielle, Destiny, Sasha, Chloe, Hailie, Gwendolyn, Giselle, and Kailie; as well as her great granddaughter, and best friend, Remmy. Mikki is also survived by siblings Cheryl Fisher, Charles Semple, Nancy Burke, Patti McElroy, Kathi Semple, Kelli Semple, Kevin Semple, and Kerry Semple; special family friend Joel Waters; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mikki was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Peter D’Michael Gregory, and her sisters Cindi Veverka, Kimberly Tribou, Timothy Semple, Philip Semple, and Tracy Semple.

A special thank you to all of the loving and caring staff at the Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion.
