Middle schoolers and ninth graders recognized for MCAS achievements

At the School Committee's meeting on Wednesday the students who scored in the advanced category on the state's MCAS test were recognized for their achievements.
The sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth graders were called up individually and applauded by parents and teachers in the middle school auditorium.
Two weeks ago, High School Principal Scott Palladino and Minot Forest Principal Joan Seamans noted that this year brought the largest number of students ever in both schools to score in the advanced category.
MCAS are statewide standardized tests designed to hold schools, districts, and students accountable for student performance in three core subjects: English, math and science and technology.
