Mildred H. Carrigan, 87
Mildred H. (Percy) Carrigan, 87, of Wareham, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 29. She was the wife of William C. Carrigan, Sr.
Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Judith S. & Calvin Percy. Formerly of Avon and West Bridgewater, she moved to Wareham in 1987. A graduate of Avon High School in 1944, she was treasurer of her class and captain of the girls basketball team.
Mrs. Carrigan previously taught kindergarten in Brockton and worked for the Town of Bridgewater as clerk and assistant treasurer in the treasurer’s office. She was a member of the Church in the Pines in W. Wareham.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, travelling, bird watching, yard work, metal detecting and family get togethers.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, William C. Carrigan, Jr., and his wife Kelly of West Bridgewater; three grandsons, three granddaughters, one great granddaughter and two great grandsons. She was predeceased by her daughters, the late Judith Riha and the late Jean Crouch; her sister, the late Hazel M. Percy and her brothers, the late George A. Percy and the late Calvin A. Percy.
Her funeral service will be held on Tues., Nov. 5, 2013 at the Church in the Pines, 17 Carver Rd., W. Wareham at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Mon. at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM.
