Minot Forest celebrates Autism Awareness Day
Apr 20, 2016
Minot Forest Elementary School celebrated their own Autism Awareness Day early in April, either by wearing Minot Forest autism awareness tee shirts or the color blue to honor everyone diagnosed with autism.
The teachers of Minot Forest raised $130 during the event and donated the amount to Autism Speaks.
World Autism Day, which was observed on April 2, was adopted by the United Nations in 2007. Its goal is to shine a light on autism as a growing global health priority. Every year, Autism Speaks celebrates its international “Light It Up Blue” campaign. Throughout the world, thousands of landmarks, skyscrapers, businesses, homes, and schools across the world shine bright blue lights.
