'Murder in the Library' mystery fundraiser upcoming
The Wareham Free Library will host "Murder in the Library," a mystery involving a colorful cast of characters from the Wareham community, on Friday, November 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Attendees will watch as local cast members preform a play that involves a peculiar murder.
Clues will be scattered throughout the library.
Then, it will be up to attendees to solve the crime.
The event will include several intermissions featuring hot and cold appetizers, desserts, a cash bar, and a silent auction throughout.
The cast of characters includes: Henry St. Julien, Wareham High School teacher; Anne Eisenmenger, Wareham Week publisher; Howie Smith, a local businessman; Selectman Judy Whiteside; Wareham Public Schools Superintendent Kimberly Shaver-Hood; Ken Fontes of the Boys & Girls Club; Denise Medeiros, Wareham Free Library director.
Julien will be playing a publisher, Dell Doubleplay. Portraying critic Page Turner will be Eisenmenger. Playing the Governator will be Smith. Whiteside will be the colorful J'Lo Bennifer, a Hollywood star. Shaver-Hood will play author Agatha Mystry. Fontes will embody the role of Inspector Sam Slayed. Medeiros potrays librarian Lotta Books.
The casts has rehearsed for the past few weeks.
The event takes place at the main branch on Marion Road. Tickets are $30 per person and available at the main library and at the Spinney branch in Onset. Proceeds benefit the Wareham Free Library Foundation, Inc.
