Music from Land's End Wareham presents duo recital on March 24
Music from Land’s End Wareham will present a duo recital with violinist Ariadne Daskalakis and pianist Anthony Spiri on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Lyndon South Auditorium, Tabor Academy. They will present works by Johannes Brahms and Franz Schubert.
Suggested donation for admissions is $20.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra Centennial Endowment Fund.
Daskalakis and Spiri have just recently recorded the complete Brahms Violin Sonatas for the West German Radio. In this program they pair up Brahms’ lyrical 2nd Sonata and his fiery Scherzo with the Schubert Fantasy in C.
This past fall, both enjoyed guest residencies at the Juilliard School in New York; Anthony also toured the Northeast with singer Bernarda Fink and gave guest lectures in England. Daskalakis toured in Suzhou, China and in Italy, and gave further performances in Berlin, Cologne and northern Germany.
On this trip, both will also appear at Brandeis University and at the esteemed Blue Hill Concert Series in Maine.
