Neva E. (Thurston) Ellis, 94, of Bourne formerly of Wareham passed away Thursday July 10, at the Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bourne. Mrs. Ellis was the wife of the late William E. Ellis Jr. She was born in Roxbury, VT the daughter of the late Wilbert and Florence (Dickenson) Thurston.
Mrs. Ellis was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Wareham as well as a charter member of the Emblem Club # 99 of Wareham. She worked for many years as waitress for various restaurants to include Lindsey’s, Tiny Jims, The Lobster Bowl and Way Ho.
She is survived by her son William E. Ellis III of West Wareham. She was the grandmother of William, Wanda, Thomas and Jeffrey Ellis. The great-grandmother of Danielle Wentworth, Jeffrey and Jamie Carbone and Jeffrey Ellis Jr. and the great, great-grandmother of Christopher Carbone, Ciana Carbone and Mikel Kelle. She is survived by her brothers Wendell and Delbert Thurston of VT. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Beverly (Stringer) Ellis of E. Wareham and many loving relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 16 from 10 to 12 a.m. at the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
