The Onset Fire Department is actively recruiting 20 on-call firefighters to help protect the community.

Students will undergo a training program which encompasses the fundamentals of firefighting, including first aid and hazardous materials responses, to meet all of the requirements for Fire Fighter I and II levels of NFPA. Students will also obtain First Aid skills.

Each week, Students will work two three-hour shifts and one six-hour shift either on Saturday or Sunday, depending on availability. Upon the program completion, students will receive a state certification.

To qualify for the position, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, pass a criminal background check, and be physically fit and able to perform strenuous work under adverse conditions.
