Pan-Mass riders roll through Wareham

Aug 4, 2013

Thousands of Pan-Mass Challenge cyclists traveled through Wareham on Saturday during the last leg of their 84- or 111-mile trip to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Cyclists began in Sturbridge or Wellesley and wrapped up the day in Bourne.

In Wareham, supporters offered water and encouragement at a pit stop on Minot Avenue. Signs -- some of which were crafted and hung by neighbors whose houses the cyclists pass -- lined the route.

This year's challenge has raised more than $25,317,000 for cancer research at Dana-Farber thus far. The fundraising goal is $38 million.
