Patricia Govoni, 75

Aug 27, 2018

Patricia Sally Govoni, 75, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Plymouth passed away on July 16. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Dudek) and Walter Wrobel. Pat was married to her husband, Stephen Govoni for 53 years.

Pat graduated from Durfee High School in Fall River before attending Bridgewater State College where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. Pat was a beloved fifth grade teacher at the Governor John Carver School in Carver for 27 years.

Pat loved books, crossword puzzles and playing cards and dominoes with friends. Her keen wit and great sense of humor always made it enjoyable to be in her company. Pat was a devoted New England sports fan and like to travel with her husband Steve. For 18 years, Pat was Steve’s co-pilot as the couple drove between Massachusetts and Florida where they spent their winter months. Pat saw summers in Massachusetts as precious time spent with family and friends. Pat’s daughters, Laurie Govoni of Arlington, and Wendy Woods of Burlington, and their families would look forward to Nana and Papa’s return. Pat’s six grandchildren and one great-grandson were her greatest pride and joy.

In addition to Pat’s husband, daughters and grandchildren, she is also survived by her brother, Raymond Wrobel and his wife Dottie of Rhode Island, and sister in-law Fay Thurston of Connecticut, and Elaine McLaughlin of Massachusetts, and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, (Route 28), Wareham on Saturday, Sept. 8 from noon to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made in Pat’s name to Hospice of Marion County’s Ted and Diane Brandley House, 17395 SE 109th Terrace Rd., Summerfield, FL 34491 OR Carver Public Library, 2 Meadowbrook Way, Carver, MA 02330.
