WAREHAM – Paula M. (Cabral) Cabral-Matos, 77, of Wareham, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 9, 2023, at Bourne Manor Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of the late Salvador Matos Figueroa and the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Santos) Cabral.

She was born in Wareham and lived there most of her life. She graduated from Wareham High School and Cape Cod Community College.  

Mrs. Cabral-Matos worked for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. for many years, before returning home to work for the Visiting Nurses Association until retiring.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, shopping, and decorating.

Survivors include her son, Tino Cabral and his wife, Lenora of Cheshire, CT; 2 sisters, Delores Hayes of Wareham, and MaryLou Cabral of Wareham; a cousin who was like a sister to her, Maryann Ramos of West Wareham; 4 grandchildren, Toriana R. Bunting-Figueroa of Wareham, Armán Cabral of Cheshire, CT, Nolan James O’Connor of Wareham and Jace Cabral Figueroa of Fall River, 3 nieces, Terri (Hayes) Spearman of Waterbury, Amanda (Lima) Glinski of New Bedford, and Paula (Lima) Jones of Amherst, Ma. She was the mother of the late Ricardo R. Matos Figueroa.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
