Pellet stove fire gives Damien's Pantry a scare

Mar 7, 2013

The Onset Fire Department responded to a fire at Damien's Pantry on Cranberry Highway at approximately 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters at the scene said the blaze was started by a small fire in a pellet stove. There were no injuries and the fire was contained to the stove.

"It overfed and there was a small smoldering fire," said Captain Raymond Goodwin.

"We just checked the chimney and the rest of the building," to make sure the fire hadn't caused any damage.
