Jul 15, 2019

Kids can get creative with the Dog Park Association of Wareham’s “Unleash the PAWsibilities Youth Art & Literary Contests Celebrating the People-Pet Bond” this summer. Area students ages 5 to 18 can enter pet-themed visual arts and poetry/essay contests (or both), separated into three age groups.

Local authors Gretchen Pyne and Mary Nyman and Children's Librarian Marcia Hickey are judging the poetry and essay contest submissions. Area artists & book illustrators Terry Kole and John Cardinal, along with artist and architect Anthi Frangiadis are judging the visual arts submissions.

All contestants are entered into a prize raffle. Visual art and poetry and essay winners in the three age groups will receive certificates & awards.

Registration forms are available at TD Bank, WFL/Spinney Libraries, the OBA Office, Gleason Family YMCA, or by email at sammorrison@comcast.net.

Submission sites are TD Bank, the OBA Office & WFL/Spinney Libraries. Submissions are due July 19th.

All student work will be displayed at TD Bank & the Wareham Post Office. TD Bank will host the celebration of contest and raffle winners at 4:30 on August 2 at a celebration that will include snacks, giveaways, and kids games.
