An organization looking to stop sex trafficking in Plymouth County will lead a presentation at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 26 at the Onset Foursquare Church, 301 Onset Ave.
Coordinator for the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children organization, Kathleen Gately, will lead the presentation on Friday. Gately is also the family advocate of the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
“In 2021, there were 88 referrals for concerns of CSEC sent to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office Children’s Advocacy Center,” a press release for the event states. “Kathleen has coordinated the multidisciplinary response for the county and their community based CSEC Task Force for the last four years. Kathleen has 16 years experience working with survivors and service providers of Human Trafficking both in the United States and other countries.
“This presentation will be on what is CSEC, how is it happening locally, what the current response looks like and things we can do to help our youth. District Attorney Timothy Cruz may stop in, if his schedule permits.”
The presentation is open to the community, and participants are asked to call the Onset Foursquare Church at 508-291-1595 or Barbara Sullivan at 508-863-0073 to RSVP.
