Wareham Middle School will host the 11th annual Readers Become Leaders 5K run/walk on Sunday, October 19.

The race begins at 12 p.m. at Minot Forest Elementary and features costumed readers who entertain the runners and walkers.

There is a $100 cash prize to the top male and female runners, prizes to first place male and female walkers, and division prizes for youngsters to octogenarians.

Proceeds from the event benefit Wareham Middle School students.
