René Jean Joseph Lavoie, 77
WAREHAM – René Jean Joseph Lavoie, 77, of Wareham, passed away on January 14, 2025, at Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. He was the husband of Doris C. (LoCicero) Lavoie and the son of the late Hervé G. and Andrée M. (Lahaut) Lavoie.
He was born in Fall River and lived in Somerset for many years before moving to Wareham 15 years ago. He graduated from Prevost High School in Fall River and Swain School of Design.
Extremely skilled in art & design, Mr. Lavoie worked at a job he truly loved as a Graphic Designer for Hasbro Toy Company in Pawtucket, RI for several years before retiring. His creative side often branched into other areas; he took immense pride in his inventive coffee blends.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham. He was perpetually proud of his cultural background; he loved all things French, Belgian, and Canadian. His favorite dish was moules (mussels) et fries. He enjoyed drawing, consuming spy-based entertainment in the form of books, shows, and movies, listening to music, especially 50’s and 60’s music, gardening, and watching the birds on his backyard deck at home. He was known to his family as “Mr. Fix-It”, as he could fix anything and enjoyed doing so.
He was a huge fan of James Bond, 007 – he had the 007 bullet logo tattooed on his chest and dedicated his license plate to the character.
René always had an impressive array of skills, and he was exceptionally persistent. He never gave up. Ever a storyteller, he was endlessly social and left a friendly and positive impression on those who were lucky enough to cross his path. He will be missed by many, and he will be remembered more than anything else as a truly kind person.
