A resident of All American Assisted Living in Wareham has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Michael Allen, vice president of Kaplan Development Group, which owns All American Assisted Living, said that the resident tested positive on Wednesday, April 15, and has since been hospitalized.

On Tuesday, April 14, Allen confirmed that a care provider at the facility tested positive for the virus, but it is unclear if the two cases are related.

Allen said that All American Assisted Living is taking precautions to ensure the safety of both staff and residents in the facility.

He said that staff and residents are having their temperatures taken multiple times per day and being monitored for symptoms of the coronavirus. The facility is also being disinfected multiple times per day.

As of Thursday evening, April 16, Allen said that he did not plan on bringing in the National Guard to conduct further testing at All American Assisted Living.

Ryan Perreault, the executive director of Wareham Health Care, a skilled nursing home, said that there had been no cases of coronavirus at the facility on April 16.
