Residents invited to learn about gardening, farm volunteering
Apr 28, 2026
The Marion Institute will host an informational program on garden and farm volunteer opportunities Wednesday, June 3, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road.
Scott Codey of Frogfoot Farms will discuss ways residents can support regional food access efforts through hands-on work, including harvesting vegetables, gleaning produce, planting native hedgerows, supporting school gardens, assisting at events and advocating for food system legislation.
According to Frogfoot Farm, 1 in 3 residents in Southeastern Massachusetts experiences food insecurity, while local food pantries often rely on shelf-stable donations.
The program is free and open to all ages. No registration is required.
