Richard Franklin Ward, 81

Richard Franklin Ward, 81, of W. Wareham died Thursday, March 12 at Kindred Transitional Care at Forestview in Wareham. He was the husband of Rose Marie (McSweeney) Ward.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Newton G. and Emma F. (Otto) Ward. Mr. Ward was a previous resident of Stoughton for many years before moving to West Wareham. He was employed as a truck driver for Teamsters Local 653, S. Easton.

Mr. Ward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He enjoyed travelling and visiting his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Moore of Sandwich and Diane Karo of Bridgewater; his son, Richard Newton Ward of Stoughton; his step-children, Ann-Marie Chadwick-Dias of Carver and Robert Chadwick of S. Carver; his sister, Priscilla Madan of Easton; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, the late Leon A. Ward.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Fri., March 20 at 11 a.m. at the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours have been omitted.
