Richard Ziemba, 91, of Wareham died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary E. MacLeod and Charlotte A. Strong-Ziemba.

Born in Stemmers Run, MD, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen Ziemba of Essex, MD.

Richard was a proud veteran of the Army and Air Force serving as an infantry medic and medical assistant. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam War, followed by service to the VFW in retirement and assisting with the Korean War Veteran's monuments in Massachusetts and Washington D.C.

He loved sports, especially baseball, playing and coaching little league for over 10 years. He was an avid gardener, loved music and singing, cooking and traveling.

Survivors include his children, Toni Dering and her husband Gil of Pocasset and Richard Ziemba and his wife Lori of Florham Park, NJ, Laura Schwartze of Fall River, Rebecca Ziemba of OR, and Rachel Ziemba of Fairfax, VA; his grandchildren, Melissa DePierro, Brandon DePierro and his wife Betsy, Alexis DePierro and Caitlin Ziemba. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Melvin Ziemba, Viola Gromek, Stanley Ziemba, Laura Kanefski, Stacia Deckleman, Henry Ziemba, and Jessie Ziemba. He was predeceased by his daughter, the late Paula DePierro.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tues., Nov. 8, 2022 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 5 to 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wed., Nov. 9, 2022 at Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne at 10:45 AM. Please arrive at the cemetery by 10:30 AM.
