Robert A. Bartlett, 93
Robert A. Bartlett, 93, E. Wareham, MA
Born in Everett, MA
In his lifetime, Bob was defined by simple things—devotion to family, hard work, love of nature, and the ability to fix literally anything. Bob was a master carpenter and brilliant builder, the man Harvard University called when they didn’t trust anyone else with the Glass Flower Museum, the man the NE Aquarium called to build a seal tank, and the man that rushed in to restore the Longfellow Wayside Inn after it was damaged by fire.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob wasn’t intimidated by a tent in the middle of winter or a hike through deep snow near the Canadian border. Once retired from years in the building trade, he built things for fun, helped neighbors with projects, took up rowing on his favorite pond, became an expert puzzler, and even learned how to bake chocolate chip cookies for his grandchildren.
Bob is pre-deceased by Joyce M. Bartlett, his beloved wife of 62 years; his parents Annie (Richards) Bartlett and Malcolm Bartlett; his siblings—Harry Bartlett, Anne Cummings, Ruth Cummings; and Malcolm “Bud” Bartlett.
He leaves behind his children: Joyce Bartlett and her partner Stephen, Dawna Bartlett Lanney and her husband Steve, Robin (Bartlett) Rumbolt and her husband Steve, Debra Bartlett Mestieri and her husband Guy; his cherished grandchildren, Kristen Vicino and her husband Derek, Justin Robert Flateau and his wife Heather, Tim Bartlett Kresl and his wife Ashley, Steven Rumbolt and his wife Sandra, his great grandchildren, Aiden, Amelia, Grayson, Harper, and Max; and his loving sister, Lily Bartlett Wetherbee along with his many nieces and nephews.
Bob will be greatly missed.
