WAREHAM – Robert S. Hough, 78, formerly of Waltham and lifelong resident of Onset, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 unexpectedly at Tobey Hospital in Wareham.

He was the husband of Carol (Hawkins) Hough. Bob worked as a mason for many years in the Waltham and Cape Cod areas.

Later working as a landscaper for the last 30 years in Onset and Wareham as Robert S. Hough Grounds Maintenance. He had a keen eye for horticulture and property management.

Bob took great pride in managing his clients’ properties as well as his own. He was very particular, always needing things a certain way and just right with the many things he did.

Bob enjoyed morning coffee by the canal with his wife who was the most important to him.

He loved planning and hosting family parties. A food connoisseur in his own right, he enjoyed dining out and hearing of any new hot spots and would carry on long conversations about food and experiences.

Bob was the son of the late Edward and Doris (Miller) Hough. Survivors include his wife Carol of 43 years; three sons, Jeffrey S. Hough and his wife Susan of Westwood, Robert S. Hough and his wife Leanne of Waltham, and Christian Ellis of E. Wareham; his grandchildren, Adam Ellis, Dominic Hough, Jake Hough, Julia Hough, Jacklyn Hough, Robert Hough III, and Benjamin McIntire.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14 th at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
