WAREHAM – Robert M. Gomes, Jr., of West Wareham, passed away on November 27, 2023. He was the son of Robert M. and Josephine Louise (Vasconcelos) Gomes.

He was born in Bourne and lived in Texas, California, New Bedford, Rhode Island, and Wareham for many years. He graduated from Wareham High School.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1983.

Mr. Gomes held a CDL and worked for Atlantic Freight Company in Taunton for several years.

He enjoyed working on and maintaining his pickup truck. He was a handyman and could fix anything, he had a green thumb and enjoyed working in his yard. He was also a huge fan of Bruce Lee.

Survivors include his children, Billie Lyn Gomes of Riverside, RI and Robert M. Gomes, III of Wareham; his father, Robert M. Gomes of FL; his mother, Josephine Louise (Vasconcelos) Gomes of Wareham; 3 sisters, Gina Madera, Adeline Gomes and Amanda Gomes all of Wareham and several nephews and nieces.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
