Ruth C. (Koberstein) Singleton of Wareham, formerly of Michigan and Germany, passed away at home on July 7.

Ruth was the wife of the late John J. Singleton Sr. She was born in Germany in 1931 and came to the United States in 1963. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them, especially the time spent with her grand and great-grandchildren.

She volunteered and worked at the Union Villa in Onset for many years. Ruth also enjoyed shopping and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Singleton-Deane of Taunton and her son, John J. “Jay” Singleton Jr. and his wife Kathy of Wareham. She is the grandmother of Rebakah, Alan, Barbara, and Jeremiah Deane, Heather, Nicholas, Stefan, and Derek Monteiro, Samantha Dionne, and Matthew and Eric Singleton.  Ruth is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. Ruth is the mother of the late Heidi Singleton and grandmother the late Scotty Monteiro Jr.

Memorial visiting hours for Ruth will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
