Ruth Condon's 1960s revival at musical revue
Local songstress Ruth Condon delivered music straight from her heart Sunday afternoon.
Condon, along with Brave Horse Music, hosted “Straight from the Heart,” a musical revue, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Condon was accompanied by Malcolm Granger on piano and Rich Hill on bass.
The revue featured songs by some of the biggest female singers of the 1960s, including Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Petula Clark, Lani Hall, Carole King, Dusty Springfield and Karen Carpenter.
Condon said she was encouraged to pursue singing and piano from a young age. She performed professionally for more than 20 years, and still performs intermittently, while also heading Brave Horse Music LLC, an organization dedicated to promoting and producing live music at local venues.
