Ruth Enzian, 91

Ruth Claire (Illsley) Enzian, 91, of Wareham, died April 9 at home. She was the wife of the late Clayton T. Enzian, Jr. and the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Margaret E. (Zinck) Illsley.

She was born in Watertown and lived in Wareham for many years.

She graduated from Belmont High School in 1944 and married Clayton in 1946 after working as a secretary for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston.

She loved to sing, play the organ, knit, fish and spend time with family. Ruth was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wareham, she was very spiritual and shared her beliefs by her example. She was a faithful woman of great quiet strength. She was always thankful and had a contagious smile.

Survivors include her children, Clyde W. Enzian and his wife Madeline of Dracut, Dianne M. Enzian of Wareham and Deborah A. Wilson of Sagamore; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Steven T. Enzian and David B. Enzian, Sr, sister of Melbourne, Clarence, Lloyd, and Gordon Illsley and Dorothy (Illsley) Fischer.

Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 14, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. 
Visiting hours are from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
