Safe Summer 2011 kicks off

Jun 10, 2011

Safe Summer 2011 is kicking off on Friday, June 17 with an event at the Onset Pier in the center of Onset Village. Wareham residents are encouraged to stop by at 12 noon to meet with all the people in town that work hard during the summer to keep the town safe.

Life guards, Police Bike Officers, ATV Officers, Wareham Harbor Patrol Officers, and EMS personnel, will be available for questions and photo opportunities. Baseball players from the Wareham Gatemen will be there for photos and autographs.

Safe Summer 2011 is a part of the town's ongoing effort to create a safe environment for area residents, their families, and for the many visitors that travel to Wareham and Onset to enjoy the beaches and events that are scheduled throughout the summer months.

Congressman Barney Frank, State Representatives Marc Pacheco and Susan Williams Gifford, and Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald Jr. have been invited to the event.

In case of rain, the event will be moved to Town Hall.
