Sandra Jane Smarowski, 83, died Monday, August 15, 2022 at Royal Cape Cod Healthcare in Buzzards Bay.

Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Grace Emily (Conaty) and Leslie James Collins and moved to Wareham in the 1950’s. A graduate of Wareham High School, Class of 1958, Sandra worked as a telephone operator at Tobey Hospital for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Sandra had a love for stories and adventure. Taking drives with no directions or final destinations. Her light did not only touch her family and friends. She was known as “Nonnie” by many others whom all loved her too.

Survivors include her children, Marianne Rosario and her husband Rich of E. Weymouth, Regina Matthews, Jana Hennessey and her husband Mark, David Smarowski, and Melissa Smarowski all of Wareham; her sister, Leslie O’Brien of Wareham; her sister in-law, Shirley Smarowski of Wareham; her grandchildren, Nicole Matthews and her husband Jordan Torres, Benjamin Matthews and his partner Tara Besso, Grace Rosario, Madeline Hennessey, Christopher Rosario, Abigail Hennessey and Julianne Matthews; her great grandchildren, Trevor Pipher, Jace Pipher, Demitrious Pipher and Myles Matthews; several nieces and nephews and her beloved pets.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Sun., Aug. 28, 2022 from 3 – 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Mon., Aug. 29, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 10 AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
