The fourth annual Scotty Monteiro Jr. Foundation Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at 12 p.m. at The Bay Pointe Club in Onset.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. The $128 cost per person includes golf, the use of a cart, and dinner. Register by May 1 and save $25.

Prizes will be awarded. The event will also feature games, raffles, auctions, and dancing until midnight.

The Scotty Monteiro Jr. Foundation was started to stop the violence, after Scotty was murdered on Sept. 5, 2009. His killer was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on April 5, 2013.

All proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the foundation, which in turn hosts events and speakers to promote nonviolence in the Wareham community.

The foundation is also seeking business advertisers at a price of $100, and hole sponsors for $500.
